Mercersburg
Since the early 1900s, team dynamics and team strength have set Mercersburg Swimming apart from all other high school or prep school teams in the country. The academy consistently ranks in the top ten nationally and produces many All-American men and women, International Competitors, and, over the years, 23 Olympians. However, a wide variety of ability levels are represented on the team.

Although swimming is a winter sport, training opportunities continue throughout the year. Some team members participate in other interscholastic sports in the fall and spring. Training is individually designed for each swimmer recognizing the differences between distance swimmers, middle distance swimmers and sprinters. Former Olympian Head Coach Pete Williams and his talented staff work with athletes to ensure proper training during breaks and help motivated swimmers find summer training programs.

Our swimming complex includes a spacious, nine-lane, 25-yard pool and a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, completed in 1997. Mercersburg competes against high schools, prep schools, and the USS teams. Our competitive indoor season culminates with the Eastern Scholastic Swimming and Diving Championships, Senior National Championships, Juniors or Y.M.C.A. Nationals.
