Mohr Now a College Swimming Hall of Famer

Amy Dickerson Mohr, a Mercersburg faculty member since 1995 and a 15-time All-America and Academic-All America swimmer at Denison University, is a new inductee into her alma mater’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Mohr, a native of Columbus, Ohio, was a four-year letterwinner and a 15-time All-American at Denison from 1990 to 1993, was team captain her senior year, and the team’s Outstanding Freshman her first season. She placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly at the 1990 NCAA Division III national championships.

She held Denison’s school record in the 100 butterfly for eight years, and was a three-time all-conference honoree and a member of four top-eight relay teams at Division III national-championship meets.

“The news of my selection to the Hall of Fame at Denison is overwhelming,” says Mohr, who has worked in Mercersburg’s Office of Admission and Financial Aid since 1998 and as an assistant swimming coach since 1994. “As a coed, I would look at the pictures in the Hall of Fame as I walked by at 6 a.m. for training and weights… I am honored and proud to have received this recognition for my athletic accomplishments.”

Mohr was one of six Denison graduates officially inducted October 18–19 on the school’s campus in Granville, Ohio. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Denison and a master’s from Frostburg State University, and joins Mercersburg alumnus and swimmer P.J. Schaner ’86 in Denison’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
