A Spring Weekend of Arts
On a fine spring weekend, Mercersburg celebrated the arts with concerts, studio arts, and theatre performances.
The weekend (May 2–4) included a Silent Art Auction; a Friday concert in the Simon Theatre featuring the Chorale, the String Ensemble, and the Concert Band; a Saturday-evening performance in the Simon Theatre highlighting smaller musical groups, including the Jazz Band, Magalia, the Octet, and the Percussion Ensemble; and on Sunday afternoon, Stony Batter presented classical scenes from three comedies by Moliere (The Learned Ladies, A School for Wives, and Tartuffe) in the Boy’s Garden.
Proceeds from the auction go toward funding field trips, equipment and supplies in the visual arts at Mercersburg.
