| | Mercersburg becomes Summer Central from June through August, providing
an ideal setting and a wide range of opportunities for enrichment,
personal growth, and fun.
Our summer camps and workshops
feature qualified staff members with excellent reputations and
credentials. Caring, professional teachers and energetic, well-trained
counselors share common bonds of enthusiasm, experience, and a
commitment to working with people.
Our programs challenge
participants to develop their interests and to try new ideas; we
accomplish this by providing wonderful chances to learn, to experience,
and to succeed. Limited enrollments ensure the quality of attention and
instruction that makes the Mercersburg experience exceptional.
OUR APPROACH

RESIDENTIAL LIFE/DINING
Residential participants are housed in one of the Academy's modern
dormitories, with 24-hour supervision by program staff. Dorm
accommodations include air-conditioned rooms, carpeted hallways, and
tiled bathrooms with privacy shower areas. Many programs also offer
commuter options.
Campers gather at Ford Dining Hall for nutritious and appealing buffet
meals that are consistently rated "excellent" each summer by our
participants. The dining service is also adept at handling alternative
diet needs.
THE OVERNIGHT CHOICE
Choosing an overnight program brings excitement and concerns,
particularly if the choice involves a first-time experience or a new
location. Overnight experiences offer young people multiple
opportunities to develop their identity both individually and socially,
to gain personal responsibility, and to increase their self esteem
through independent thoughts and actions.
Our summer residential programs are well-structured, providing guidance
while giving young people room to ‘be on their own.’ We provide a
highly supervised dormitory environment, with health and safety
procedures for every program.
HEALTH/CARE
The safety and care of our participants is a priority at all times. An
on-campus health center provides medical services, while local
hospitals are close by should emergencies arise.
VISITS/REFERENCES
Feel free to arrange a visit to our campus and discover the essence of
our summer programs and the Mercersburg Academy campus. References are
also available, upon request.
INCLUSIVE TUITION/AGE LEVELS
Tuition for each program includes costs for instruction, events and
trips, activities, meals and boarding (if applicable). Programs list
either grade or age levels. Grade level refers to the fall of 2009. Age
level indicates the age of the participant at the time of the program.
