3:00 p.m. V Women's Swimming vs. (High School Invitational)
Mercersburg outswam eight teams to finish with 244 points, 93 more than the second place Chambersburg team. Nikki Hyrkas (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly) and Michelle Stefandl (50 and 100 freestyle) each won two individual events for the Storm and combined with Kiersten Bell and Leah Selznick to win the 400 freestyle relay by a comfortable margin. Mercersburg finished first in all but one of the individual and relay races. In addition, Cammie Reilly, Maggie Goff and Ashley Heisey all participated in their first-ever diving competition.

“There were a couple of close events, but this was really intended to help us prepare for next week, our last event before the break. It’s going to be much tougher event for us because it’s an open competition against clubs, which may well contain college-age swimmers,” commented Coach Pete Williams.

Final Team Standings:
1. Mercersburg (244 points); 2. Chambersburg (151); 3. James Buchanan (52); 4. St. Maria Goretti (48); 5. John Handley (44); 6. Hedgesville (37); 7. (tie) Musselman, Martinsburg (31); 9. Washington (5).
