Lowermiddler Blackburn Warner hit five long-range shots for most of his team-high 17 points, but Mercersburg couldn't overcome a big early deficit against Timber Ridge. The hosts jumped ahead early and led by as many as 21 points early in the fourth quarter, but Warner hit 3-point shots on three consecutive possessions and Peter Flanagan led a pressuring defensive effort to spark a comback that pulled the visitors to within six points. Timber Ridge hit key free throws in the closing minutes, however, to seal the victory. Sam Elwood also keyed the Storm comeback, scoring eight of Mercersburg's 22 fourth quarter points.

“The boys showed a resolve we haven’t seen yet,” commented Coach John David Bennett. “We learned a lot about ourselves in the fourth quarter, and we hope to carry our new identity into our first home game Wednesday against St. Maria Goretti High School."
