9:00 a.m. V Wrestling vs. Holloway Invitational @ St. James
Ethan Cummings and James Hendrickson won the first varsity tournaments of their respective careers, leading Mercersburg to a third place finish in the nine-team Holloway Invitational.  Cummings, a senior, claimed the title at 135 pounds, while Hendrickson launched his tenth grade season with a championship at 152 pounds.  First year wrestler Robert Solis ran off three wins to finish in third place; he was joined by Chris Kiser (4th), Paul Suhey (3rd), and Sam Rodgers (3rd).

"The guys wrestled well, especially since it was the opening event of the year. It was good to see the leadership of Ethan and James," commented assistant coach Jason Bershatsky.

Mercersburg, which wrestled without 2008 state placewinners Cody Barrick, Garrick Skubon, and A.J. Firestone, finished just behind host St. James and runnerup Landon. Barrick and Skubon were competing the Carruso Invitational at St. Benedict's Prep in New Jersey.
