Montrose Christian used a strong first half and the scoring of team leader Cassandra Hill to defeat Mercersburg in the championship game of the Storm's annual invitational. Montrose (2-2) took a 27-16 halftime lead and held off several Mercersburg (1-1) rallies to win the title. Hill scored 28 points for the visitors, while Caroline Lovette led Mercersburg with 18 points and five rebounds. Shaniqua Reeves had seven rebounds and Taylor Riley added five steals for the Storm.

ANC defeated St. James in the consolation final, 60-22. Hill received the Most Outstanding Player award for the tournament. The rest of the All-Tournament team included Caroline Salinbury (St. James), Milona Gilbert (ANC), Zakea Lighzaoui (Montrose Christian), Jenn Dillon (M), and Taylor Riley (M).

“An anticipated uptempo, physical game, was a bit challenging for the Storm this early in the year. The Storm never led in this game, although they were within six points with a little more than four minutes left in the game. Montrose Christian was able to maintain its lead,” commented Coach Monique Liddell.
