3:00 p.m. V Men's Swimming vs. Fall Invitational
Although no team scores were kept, the hosts clearly showed their superiority at the Mercersburg Fall Invitational, as the Storm swam to wins in 26 of 30 events in the USS meet. Teams from Frederick (MD), Catonsville (MD), and Winchester (VA) joined coach Pete Williams' squads, but swam in the wake of the Storm for much of the afternoon.

Although still very early in the season, three Storm swimmers clocked lifetime bests, paced by two triple winners. Nick Thomson swam two personal best times, claiming first in his sprint specialties--the 50 and 100 yard freestyles--touching the pad in times of 21.88 and 47.36, respectively. Thomson's times in both events just missed the 2009 All-American standard, and he followed with a second place in the 100 backstroke and third in the 100 butterfly. Dan Quinn also clocked a lifetime best when he finished first in the 200 butterfly (1:58.15), his third win of the meet, following excellent performances in the 200 freestyle (1:46.07) and 100 butterfly (53.69).
Mike Weinstein also touched first in two events, while placing in four. The senior won the 100 (55.96) and 200 (1:58.47) backstrokes, while finishing second in the 200 freestyle, and third in the mile. Andrew Buehler distinguished himself in the 400 individual medley, coming in first with a lifetime best of 4:28.78.
The women also fared well, as triple winner Kiersten Bell won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:18.57, the mile with a time of 18:13.06, and the 200 breaststroke, while Nikki Hyrkas won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:23.90.
