Mercersburg has a proud tradition in football since 1889, when it fielded its first team on the gridiron. Standing as Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) Champions prior to joining the highly competitive Mid-Atlantic Prep League, Mercersburg’s football program has stepped up to an even higher level of play and now competes against many of its old rivals: Hill, Hun, Blair, Peddie, and Lawrenceville.

In 2005-2006 the team seized its’ first MAPL Championship, and Head Coach Dan Walker was named Coach of the Year. Throughout the season, the team attracts the attention of many colleges and many of its players go on to play at all levels of collegiate football.
