Mercersburg's
athletic facilities and programs provide numerous ways for students to develop their physical well-being, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship. There are
interscholastic teams for both men and women, and they compete against a wide range of public and private schools. Men’s teams include baseball, basketball, cross-country, diving, football, golf, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis, track (winter and spring), and wrestling. Women's teams include basketball, cross-country, diving, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, squash, softball, swimming, tennis, track, and volleyball.
As a member of the co-ed Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL), the Blue Storm is a spirited opponent. Opponents with a long-standing rivalry with the Blue Storm include Lawrenceville, Peddie and the Hill School.
Students participate in
intramural teams, clubs, and activities for bikers, runners, martial arts enthusiasts, hikers, kayakers, climbers and campers . Students are also involved in athletics as team managers and student trainers. Pep rallies, fan buses to off-campus competitions, and game recaps online and in the school newspaper help to keep spirits high.
