Biography:
Born in Chile and raised in Venezuela and the USA, Gonzalo has taught Spanish, ESL, and Math in schools throughout the USA, P.E. at the U. of Oregon, and ESL at a language institute in Venezuela. He holds a B.A. in Spanish/French, Cumlaude, from Winston-Salem State; an M.A. in Spanish and a graduate certificate in Secondary Education, from the U. of Oregon. His interests include Medieval and Golden Age Literature, and the study of Medievalism, as shown by his presentation at literary conferences of his essay Star Wars: A Medievalist Saga. He loves the performing arts and has participated in professional theatrical, operatic, and in-concert productions. He is a concert tenor and soloist, and now a member of the Mercersburg Chorale. He has ample coaching experience and success and currently assists both varsity tennis teams at the Academy. Gonzalo lives in campus housing with his wife, Anne, and their twin sons and baby girl.
