Biography: Laurie came to Mercersburg from Takoma Park, Maryland, after 15 years as director of theatre at the Bullis School. Laurie's career as a theatre teacher, director, professional actress, and theatre company artistic director provide strong assets for the Academy's academic and co-curricular offerings. Laurie also worked at the Garrison Forest School near Baltimore, and created their academic theatre program. She received Best Director's Award for the Source Theatre's Washington Theatre Festival and a Maryland House of Delegate's special citation for her work as artistic director for the Potomac Theatre Company. Her professional acting career has included stage, television, and movie work. She is the inaugural holder of Mercersburg's Palmer Chair of Fine Arts. | ||
