Three Alumni Named National AP Scholars
Three members of Mercersburg's Class of 2007 have been named National AP Scholars, the College Board’s highest national distinction.

Ryan Colby '07, Sam Goldsmith '07, and Christiane Volk '07 qualified for the award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a 5-point scale on all AP exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. Earning a score of 3 or higher on an AP exam is a strong predictor of academic success in college, according to the College Board.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams.

Colby attends Amherst College, Goldsmith is at Yale University, and Volk is a student at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
